F3 - Tour 1 : Kìwekì Point & Lady Grey Drive

This walking tour will showcase the exceptional panoramas and transformation of Kìwekì Point into one of the Capital's iconic landmarks. Participants will also learn how ongoing infrastructure projects like Lady Grey Drive are being positioned to reimage the waterfront.

Janet Rosenberg is the Founding Partner of Janet Rosenberg & Studio (JRS) and has more than four decades of experience in landscape architecture and urban design. Her work has contributed to the evolution of Canada’s public realm and encompasses award-winning public, institutional, cultural and private landscapes across the country, including Kìwekì Point in Ottawa. Throughout her career, Janet has championed the role of landscape architecture in city-building, creating enduring landscapes that strengthen connections between people, communities, and the natural and built environments. In 2024, she received the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects’ Lifetime Achievement Award.

Nicholas Gosselin

Senior Associate, Janet Rosenberg & Studio Inc. (JRS)

Nicholas Gosselin is a Senior Associate at Janet Rosenberg & Studio (JRS) with more than ten years of experience in landscape architecture, design and project management. As Senior Project Leader for Kìwekì Point, Nicholas helped guide the project from the international design competition through design development, multidisciplinary coordination and implementation, contributing to the transformation of this prominent National Capital site into an accessible and memorable public landscape. His experience across the public and private sectors has shaped a thoughtful and responsive design approach that moves effectively between broad urban strategies and detailed site design.

Valérie Rouette
Chief of Landscape Architecture, National Capital Commission

Valérie Rouette is Chief of Landscape Architecture at the National Capital Commission (NCC). With more than 15 years of experience in the public sector, she leads a team responsible for shaping some of the most significant public landscapes in Canada’s Capital Region.

Her design portfolio spans large-scale urban and waterfront initiatives, including the Sussex Courtyards renewal, the Rideau-to-Rideau Master plan and the Lady Grey Drive site redevelopment, as well as nationally significant commemorative projects such as the Canadian Navy Monument, the National Holocaust Monument, the War of 1812 Monument and the 2SLGBTQI+ National Monument.
