Marc Thivierge

Architect, Principal, Hobin Architecture

Marc Thivierge is a Principal at Hobin Architecture with over two decades of experience leading a diverse range of residential, institutional, and commercial projects. Since graduating from Carleton University’s School of Architecture, Marc has played a key role in the design and delivery of complex, multi-phased developments across the region.

His leadership extends from concept through construction, where he oversees multidisciplinary teams and serves as the primary point of contact during contract administration. Marc’s portfolio includes high-rise residential buildings, community facilities, and faith-based developments, reflecting a deep commitment to projects that serve a broad spectrum of users and stakeholders.

Marc is actively leading the team responsible for multiple significant affordable housing projects for Ottawa Community Housing. These projects are designed to meet rigorous Passive House standards, incorporating super-insulated building envelopes, airtight construction, and advanced energy recovery systems to dramatically reduce energy consumption and utility costs for residents.

Marc’s work continues to set new benchmarks for sustainable urban development, with a focus on creating vibrant, inclusive communities that serve a wide demographic and respond to the evolving needs of cities.

Joshua Kardish
President, eQ Homes
Vice-President, Development, The Regional Group

Josh Kardish is President of eQ Homes and Vice-President of Development at The Regional Group, two Ottawa-based companies involved in residential homebuilding, land development and real estate investment.

Since joining The Regional Group in 2006, Josh has played a leadership role in the growth and development of the organization's residential and real estate development businesses. His experience spans land acquisition and development, new home construction, multi-residential development and the management of complex real estate projects and investments.

Josh is actively involved in the homebuilding and development industry. He is a past President of the Greater Ottawa Home Builders' Association and serves on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Home Builders' Association. He also volunteers with several non-profit organizations in the Ottawa community.
Prior to joining The Regional Group, Josh worked as a planning consultant with Novatech Engineering Consultants. He holds a Master of Urban and Rural Planning and a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University.

Evan Garfinkel
Director, Land Development, The Regional Group

Evan is the Director of Land Development at Regional Group, where he leads a team responsible for advancing land development projects from acquisition through planning approvals and delivery. His work focuses on identifying opportunities, managing risk, and guiding developments that contribute to vibrant and sustainable communities.

Evan has worked on a diverse range of projects across the Greater Ottawa Region. Prior to joining Regional Group, he worked as a consulting Land Use Planner, supporting planning applications, due diligence initiatives, and development projects.

Evan holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Victoria. He is a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and Ontario Professional Planners Institute. Evan also contributes to the industry through CAHDCO, the City of Ottawa’s Planning and Engineering Liaison Committee, and GOHBA’s Builder Developer Council, and has previously served as Chair of ULI Ottawa
