
Jamie Goad, OAA, MRAIC
Partner, Cityscape Development Corp.
Jamie is an architect and partner with Cityscape Development Corp. Most recently his work has been focused exclusively on the Distillery Historic District in Toronto of which he is a co-founder and co-owner.
His work includes coordinating the multi-award-winning adaptive re-use of the 47 heritage buildings at this National Historic Site dating from 1832 for which project he and his Cityscape partners were honoured to be recipients of the Heritage Toronto ‘Special Achievement Award’. Jamie has also guided the firms work on the design and construction of three new mixed-use towers on the site and a fourth proposed new mixed-use commercial/residential buildings currently under development at the Distillery.
Prior to co-founding Cityscape in 1996, together with municipal planner David Jackson, Jamie designed and developed residential loft conversions of former industrial buildings for a largely arts-based clientele. From 1985 to 1991, Jamie was a partner at Matsui Baer Vanstone Architects, focusing on the firm’s multi-residential, hotel and office building projects. Previously he was a project architect with Arthur Erickson Architects involved in the design of major international institutional and residential projects.
Jamie has been a frequent speaker on heritage issues with a particular focus on the adaptive reuse and the history and redevelopment of the former Gooderham and Worts Distillery – now the Distillery Historic District.
