Sanja Janjanin
Senior Associate, architects—Alliance
A thoughtful and innovative designer, Sanja's work includes some of the landmark mixed use waterfront projects such as Sugar Wharf, Pier 27, Harbour Plaza, and the Distillery District, that demonstrated how tall buildings can meaningfully engage with their context to create vibrant public realms. She is currently leading the master planning team for The Bend, a transformative new neighbourhood comprising four city blocks of residential, retail, and cultural uses on the Toronto’s waterfront at Cherry Street.
Having lived and worked in both Europe’s walkable urban cores and North America’s dense, vertical cities, Sanja brings a distinctive perspective to city-building, balancing density with livability. As both a witness and active participant in Toronto’s architectural evolution, she has developed a profound understanding of the complexities and possibilities of designing for dynamic high-density urban environments.
