Miko Betanzo
Senior Planner – Urban Design, City of Victoria
Miko is an urban design scholar-practitioner, currently working with the city of Victoria as a senior planner, urban designer. His doctoral dissertation explored how context, identity, and narrative influences preferences in the built environment, and he ran the urban design program at Vancouver Island University with the masters of community planning degree. Perpetually working on unpublished books, Miko continues to find ways to talk about urban design instead of contributing to the field through publications and hard work. That said, he is a firm believer that the quality of architecture and the way cities are being designed are strongly influenced by the quality of the dialogue that discusses these matters.
