Great cities happen when we Capitalize Design.
Twenty years ago, the Council for Canadian Urbanism met in Ottawa to advance the national conversation on urban design by exploring the proximity, the mix, and the commons that can make Canadian cities work. This fall, facing new challenges and equipped with new energy, the Council returns to Ottawa to host Capitalizing Design: three days of collaboration, learning, and candid conversations.
Capitalizing Design will foreground the creative processes that shape our cities. It is a forum for everyone involved in the messy space of city-building: urban designers, architects, planners, engineers, public servants, students, and anyone creating community. Participants will engage with panels, debates, interactive sessions, and guided tours, including special sessions for students and emerging practitioners.
Canadian cities need urban design. This October, bring your ideas and perspectives to Ottawa and help CanU Capitalize Design.
